After hosting more than 40 Community Action Forums (CAF) across New Jersey, the Family Success Institute launched the next phase:
CAF Regional Meetings.
These meetings amplify community voices and build on the ideas and priorities shared during the local Forums, further investing in the community members who participated through leadership and advocacy training, and encouraging community members to continue to use their voices, insights and organizing power to achieve their visions for their families and communities. Hosted in North, Central and Southern New Jersey and the northern and southern regions of the Jersey Shore, as well as a statewide-Spanish language opportunity, the Regional Meetings offer powerful opportunities to connect, collaborate and mobilize around the issues that matter most to every community.
The Regional Meetings initiative has three primary goals:
- Equip past Community Action Forum participants with leadership and advocacy training
- Support community-designed solutions through expert-led Design Thinking
- Foster connection and collaboration among community members across regions
The creative, innovative “Community-Designed Solutions” developed at each Regional Meeting will then directly determine the program and format for an upcoming statewide Family Success Summit, and the effort to connect community members and their proposed solutions with decision-makers who can carry those proposals even further.
