Schumann Fund Awards Instrumental Grant to The Family Success Institute  

East Orange, N.J. – The Family Success Institute (FSI), a 501c3 nonprofit organization comprising parents, advocates, community members and professionals united around helping families succeed and thrive, was awarded a $25,000 operational grant from the Schumann Fund for New Jersey.

An organization rooted in philanthropic efforts including health and education, the Schumann Fund advances ideas and opportunities to empower low-income children, families and communities of color to thrive.

“We are honored to receive this grant from the Schumann Fund for New Jersey,” said Tim Carden, Executive Director, FSI. “This support will empower The Family Success Institute to amplify the voices of local communities. We are grateful for the opportunity to continue our work fostering the Family Success movement throughout the state.”

The grant will advance the growth and impact of FSI’s mission: to ensure that all families have what they need to succeed as a right, not a privilege. This mission is carried out through several initiatives, including promoting legislation that will institutionalize family success, and engaging families and communities via grassroots efforts such as Community Action Forums and the Learning Community, a collaborative group of community leaders and family members who share experiences and form strategies for collective impact.

“This grant allows us the Family Success movement to continue working toward a world where well-being and success are universal norms, rather than a privilege reserved for few,” said Tom Blatner, Co-founder of FSI and President of the Board of Directors. “We are grateful to supporters like the Schumann Fund, who are committed to building a more equitable community for all.”
