Schumann Fund Awards Grant to The Family Success Institute to Advance Family Success Initiatives Across New Jersey
The Family Success Institute (FSI), a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families succeed and thrive, has been awarded a $20,000 operational grant from the Schumann Fund for New Jersey. The grant builds on the Schumann Fund’s initial 2025 investment and reinforces its continued commitment to strengthening families and communities.
An organization rooted in philanthropic efforts including health and education, the Schumann Fund advances ideas and opportunities to empower low-income children, families and communities of color to thrive.
“We are grateful for the Schumann Fund’s continued investment in our work,” said Tim Carden, Executive Director of FSI. “This support for the Schumann Fund allows us to expand the reach of the Family Success movement across New Jersey. When families have a seat at the table and their voices shape the systems that serve them, entire communities grow stronger.”
The grant will advance the growth and impact of FSI’s mission: to ensure that all families have what they need to succeed as a right, not a privilege. This mission is carried out through several initiatives, including promoting legislation that will institutionalize family success, and engaging families and communities via grassroots efforts such as Community Action Forums (CAF), CAF Regional Meetings, and the Learning Community, a collaborative group of community leaders and family members who share experiences and form strategies for collective impact.
“The Family Success movement is about reimagining a world where well-being and success are universal norms, not privileges reserved for a few,” said Tom Blatner, Co-founder of FSI and President of the Board of Directors. “With the support of partners like the Schumann Fund, we are accelerating the momentum needed to transform that vision into lasting change.”
